Garmin announced the next generation in rugged, touchscreen GPS devices, introducing the Garmin Montana 600 GPS and Garmin Montana 650 GPS. The Montana series feature a large bright 10 cm 65k colour, TFT dual orientation display with a built-in basemap, and a high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix. Both models come standard with a microSD card slot, 3-axis compass and barometric altimeter.

Building on the Garmin Montana 600 GPS feature set, the Garmin Montana 650 GPS adds a 5-megapixel, autofocus digital camera that automatically geo-tags pictures allowing users to mark, remember and navigate back to that exact spot in the future. Connect the Garmin Montana 650 GPS to a computer via USB, log on to myGarmin (https://my.Garmin.com)and any photos will be automatically detected. The intuitive myGarmin site makes it simple to select, upload and store photos. You can also plan and review the location of your latest adventure by using Garmin's free BaseCamp software(www.garmin.com/basecamp). Montana supports Garmap, Garmin City Navigator and BlueChart g2 mapping. Receive text-to-speech driving directions when using a compatible map with the optional automotive mount (incl. speaker).

Go Everywhere
Adding more maps is easy with a wide array of optional detailed topographic, marine and road maps. With its microSD card slot, Montana lets you load Topo maps and hit the trail, plug in BlueChart g2 preloaded cards for a great day on the water or Streetmaps for turn-by-turn routing on roads. Montana also supports BirdsEye Satellite Imagery (subscription required / coverage dependant), that lets you download satellite images to your device and integrate them with your maps. In addition, Montana is compatible with Custom Maps, free software that transforms paper and electronic maps into downloadable maps for your device.

Share Wirelessly
With the Garmin Montana you can share your waypoints, tracks, routes and geocaches wirelessly with other compatible Garmin GPS users. So now your friends can also enjoy your favourite hike or cache � simply press �send� to transfer your information to similar units, and let the games begin.

By going paperless, you're not only helping the environment but also improving efficiency. Montana stores and displays key information, including location, terrain, difficulty, hints and descriptions, which means no more manually entering coordinates and carrying paper print outs! Simply upload the GPX file to your unit and start hunting for caches!

Take Geotagged Pictures
Capture locations and memories with Garmin Montana 650�s 5 megapixel digital camera. Each photo is geotagged automatically with the location of where it was taken, allowing you to navigate back to that exact spot in the future. Snap and view pictures in landscape or portrait orientation. To keep track of your photos and to show their location on a map, simply connect Garmin Montana 650 via USB and use Garmin�s free BaseCamp software (www.garmin.com/basecamp). For more storage, insert a microSD card (you can even view pictures from other devices on microSD with Montana's picture viewer).
